Welcome to the Titleist TruFeel golf ball review. This is the third version of the TruFeel model which comes with some changes and improvements. Same as for the previous model I reviewed a couple of years ago, I could not find the exact compression rating. However, this is the lowest compressed golf ball from the Titleist lineup. So, if you are an ultra-soft golf balls fan, it ticks that box.
Now, let’s start with the innovations. Titleist lists three key points on the back of the TrueFeel box. First, there is the softer 3.0 TruFlex cover which should deliver increased greenside spin and control.
Then, there is the new TruTouch core for a soft feel and long distance. Finally, TruFit aerodynamic dimple design should help with a penetrating low ball flight and long distance.
This all sounds interesting, now let’s see how it all looked in action on the course.
My Verdict
The ball pretty much behaved how I imagined it to. It is a ball that most of anything focuses on the soft feel. One thing that I was surprised with was the low flight. By that, I mean it was flying lower than any ball I have tried so far. Therefore, I can say that Titleist advertises it right when they mention a penetrating low ball flight. As expected, there was not plenty of greenside spin or any other spin for that matter. Nonetheless, the durability is great. All considered when you add the price to the mix, it is a very solid choice.
Who Is This Ball For?
Due to its key characteristics, this ball is most suitable for beginners and golfers who do not want to break the bank to play a Titleist golf ball. Additionally, all golfers who prefer that “marshmallow” feeling when hitting the ball might enjoy the TruFeel. Also, if your swing speed is on the faster side, you might want to look elsewhere. The lack of spin will not attract skilled golfers seeking increased distance control. If you are looking for a good deal, this ball comes at a very reasonable price, as low as the price goes with Titleist golf balls. All considered, this ball is among the best cheap golf balls out there.

On the Green
This was by far the part of the game that generated the best results with this ball. Right from the first putt, I did not have any issues finding the right pace. The ball held the line well both on long and short putts. It performed extremely well on putts within 5 feet of the hole. Longer putts would finish in a nice proximity to the hole making the next putt easier. For everyone wondering, it did feel soft off the putter face.
Around the Green
Despite the soft feel off the clubface on chip shots, I did not enjoy chipping that much. The main reason is the lack of spin which I am used to with the Pro V1. Subsequently, that led to less distance control and more inaccurate chips. I prefer bump-and-runs and I felt it was hard to judge the right pace for where I needed the ball to stop. Even on higher trajectory chips the ball would just not stop quick enough. To be fair, this ball is not designed to provide a lot of spin. It might just take a bit longer for the adjustment.
Approach Shots
Since I review balls on a par 3 course, every tee shot is an approach shot. The first thing I noticed was how soft the ball felt each time I hit it. Everyone looking for that softness will be pleased with it. The second thing I noticed was how low the ball traveled toward the green. Of all the balls I have tried and reviewed, this one had the lowest flight trajectory I have ever seen. So, whoever is looking for a very penetrating flight will be happy.
Nonetheless, all this comes with a downside. I have to come back to the lack of spin. There is just not enough stopping power and this makes it easy to overshoot the green. It happened to me on a few occasions. Adjustment is needed to let the ball land closer and let it bounce/roll on the green. Something to keep in mind if you are trying this ball for the first time.
Durability
If anything, durability is where the ball truly shines. After a full round on a par 3 course, there were only a couple of visible marks and scuffs on the ball cover. This is an improvement I noticed compared to the 2022 model. You don’t have to worry about any drop in performance after one round. I can assume the ball can go through multiple rounds before it needs to be replaced.
Appearance and Price
Titleist golf balls always look elegant, at least in my opinion. This golf ball is no exception. Even the last edition had a bit of a different alignment on it. I am pleased to say that Titleist altered it slightly and now it looks nicer. In fact, it can be of good help if you align your ball on putts. It is available in white, yellow, and matte red colors.
Price is this ball’s strongest suit. As far as Titleist golf balls go, at 24.99 USD, there is no cheaper ball on the market. When you put everything together, this ball offers a good value for money. To put it in Titleist words, you get Titleist trusted quality and consistency.
